This October brings a great variety of fun and entertaining events for everyone. Go to a concert, meet reenacted Dansih vikings, juice apples, and join a spooky Halloween party.
 
The still colder weather, and the upcoming autumn holiday, invite you to get creative and participate in new activities.

October 2nd - It’s game night!
7 pm to 10 pm
 
Event Kalundborg invites you to an evening of board games. We will make sure you have a lot of board games, but you are also welcome to bring your own.
 
Participation is free.

October 5th - Catch & Clean
9 am

In collaboration with Havmiljøvogterne (the marine environment guardians), #plasticinthebasket, and the Danish Anglers Association, Fishing Zealand is hosting a collective garbage collection day this Saturday. 
There will be coffee and hot cocoa afterwards.

After lunch you have the opportunity to join the coastal fishing, where the guide will bring fishing gear and bait.

October 5th - Classical salsa concert
3 pm
 
The Latin Clásico is a unique constellation of the greatest residing latin-jazz musicians and vocalists. They all have a broad experience and a deepfelt love for the music they play.
Leading the ensemble is the rewarded mezzozoprano Signe Asmussen along with the amazing Cuban/Venezuelan singer Ernest Manuitt.
This concert includes works from e.g. Bizet, Carl Nielsen and Gershwin.

October 6th - HeartBeat family concert
2 pm

These 4 musicians play everything from cans and jars to garbage and their own bodies. There will be rap music, high energy stomp and bodypercussion - with warmth and a kindness.
For every drumbeat, and every heartbeat, the children's smiles will widen.
This concert is for children aged 4-10 years.

October 5-6th - Tissø Viking Market

This year the Tissø Viking Market will be celebrating it's 10 years anniverary. Vikings from all over Denmark has signed up, to join in in this great weekend, filled with fun activities for everyone. This year will include the revelation of a new runestone, that is currently being made. As usual, you will find many stalls, performances travelling vikings, battles, war training, viking food and music. This year you will also be able to experience horseback archery. A rather unique two-day experience. As a guest, you can participate in a number of the many activities taking place this weekend.
 
The market is located on the spot where the real Vikings lived for centuries. A place that reveals news about the Viking Age every year, through the numerous findings that are constantly being made.

October 8th - Walk from coast to coast at Røsnæs
10 am

We will walk from Naturrummet to the northern coast and all the way to Røsnæs Harbor. From here we will go down the southern coast and through the beautiful Konstrup Cliffs. Distance: 16 km. Pace: Normal. Guide: Lis Mejby - 21348812.
Dogs are not allowed on this trip.

October 10th – Bowling night
7 pm to  9 pm
 
If you don’t get a strike, spare me!
Come and join Event Kalundborg at Star Bowl for a bowling evening. You will also have the chance to meet some new people. You are welcome to bowl from 7 – 9 pm.
 
To enjoy the meal of the day, call Star Bowl at +45 59 56 23 25 to learn more and order the menu.

October 12th - Juice your own apples
10 am to 4 pm

Every year at Dyrehøj Vinyard you can show up and get all your apples juiced - juice up to 50 kg for free. If you don't have any apple trees yourself, maybe you are lucky to have a neighbor who wants to share theirs.

All you have to do is bring along the apples and containers for the juice - as a guideline you get 10 l of juice out of 15 kilo apples (ratio 3:2). The juice will keep fresh in the fridge for 5-10 days, can go in the freezer, made into cider or whatever you prefer. The juice will not be pasteurized.
You will be able to keep track of your apples all through the process, and the kids are more than welcome to join and taste the fresh apple juice.

October 7th to 14th - Local Foodfestival

The Local Foodfestival is a great initiative throughout the western part of Zealand. The menus will primarily be made from local breed and vegetable gardens.
Wherever you choose to try a 'Taste Local' menu, it will consist of two courses and at least five locally produced ingredients. The price for a 2-course menu is DKK 225.
 
On Smag-Lokalt.dk you will find all the participating restaurants and their locations.
 
October 12-13th - Kite festival
10 am to 4 pm

The annual kite festival at Vesterlyng Camping invites you to a weekend of flying fun. 
At the festval you can paint your own kite, buy new kites for both kids and experienced adults, or you can just bring along your own kite. The café will be selling hot beverages, cake and other treats.

Halloween at Birkegårdens Haver
October 12th to October 20th

Scary and fun activities during the autumn holiday for children. The gardens will be decorated, and both ghosts and witches are on the loose. The activities include donkey back riding, ATV's, campfire-bread, pumpkin faces, treasure hunts and much more. Read more on the website

October 14th to 20th 
- Go High By Night 
8 pm
 
Bring your headlight, watch the lights in the trees, and go experience the different routes through the darkness. You may borrow a headlight for DKK 30.
 
When you are done climbing the tracks, we will be serving free hot cocoa by the bonfires.

October 27th - Flea market at Novo Nordisk
10 am to 2 pm

Come join us when Novo Nordisk Kalundborg once again invites to the flea market in the leisure centre.

The sale from the café, the fee for a booth and the earnings from items sold from the Novo Nordisk booth will go in full to Solglimt, which is a home for children and young people with diabetes - www.solglimt.net.

Free admission for everyone. Children can decorate Halloween muffins in the café for DKK 10.

October 31st- Pub Quiz
7 pm to ?

The final Thursday of each month Event Kalundborg is having
a pub-quiz at ”Kontoret” in Skibbrogade, and as usual you are invited to join in.
The quiz begins at 7.15 pm. It consists of 3-7 rounds of varying questions about everything from music and media to travels and local culture.

Prizes are at stake!
